Auto Business Owner Finds Garage Unlimited a Place to Get Away

Goshan Delos Santos is a long-time auto enthusiast.

He not only appreciates the power and beauty of a well-tuned machine, but he’s also built a successful business applying the finishing touches for hundreds of auto enthusiasts like him.

Delos Santos founded Elite Auto Films in Fremont in 2008. Now headquartered in San Jose, the company is the Bay Area’s premier provider of clear bra paint protection film, nano-ceramic window tinting, vinyl wraps, and precision detailing for a variety of makes and models.

“When we started, the majority of my customers drove high-end cars,” said Delos Santos. “But today, anyone who cares about his or her car could be a customer. The other day, I had a Ferrari in my shop, followed by a Volkswagen Golf. So, it’s really anyone who values his or her car and wants to preserve and protect it.”

Monterey a Special Place for Delos Santos

Elite Auto Films has been doing business with dealerships and individual customers in Monterey for a number of years. The Monterey area loves its cars, as evidenced by popular Monterey Car Week that happens every August. Delos Santos has worked on a number of automobiles that have been shown in Monterey Car Week showcases.

Then, there’s the natural beauty and feeling of freedom that one gets when driving around Monterey Bay, Pebble Beach, Carmel, or the Big Sur area. It’s a great place to get away from it all.

“I heard about Garage Unlimited of Monterey from some of my customers,” Delos Santos remarked. “My wife and I drove by and we were immediately interested. After a tour and talking with the broker, we decided to purchase an 1,126 sq. ft. garage-condo unit.”

Leisure Retreat and Workspace for Special Projects

Delos Santos plans to create both a leisure retreat to step away from the pressures of business in Silicon Valley and a comfortable workspace to take his time with special projects for his Elite Auto Films business.

“The ground floor garage space provides plenty of room for a car or two to work on,” noted Delos Santos. “I think the mezzanine above the garage is really an awesome feature. I plan to furnish it with a comfy couch, TV, refrigerator, and a desk where I can do paperwork if needed. I really want to make it a nice relaxing space for customers and myself.”

Delos Santos is also really excited about the car community aspect of Garage Unlimited of Monterey. Most of the owners are creating retreats or offices in the mezzanines that are standard in every unit. The result will be a true car community where people go to hang out with friends, wrench on cars or gather to watch motorsports events.

“It’s one of the big reasons I decided to buy there,” Delos Santos explained. “It’s definitely a positive from a business standpoint. You can’t really lose. I’ve also been extremely impressed by the attention and assistance I received from Ralph Borelli, co-developer, the SBA finance team at Tech CU, and Ernie Lostrom, my broker. They’ve been great and made everything very easy.”
